At the Manchester Martial Arts Academy, new students are always welcome and getting started is easy. Simply call and make an appointment to come and see our state of the art martial arts studio or simply stop by and watch one of our many classes throughout the week. WHAT IS TAE KWON DO?
Tae Kwon Do is a highly effective form of self protection and a great way to keep fit, reduce stress and increase your energy. You will see definite gains in your flexibility, strength and endurance. All this, while learning valuable skills that will increase your confidence and capability in a threatening situation.
Tae Kwon Do teaches so much more than just self defense. Life lessons and physical skills are part of the training, every step of the way. Becoming a black belt isn't just a goal. It is a journey that becomes a way of life.
As soon as you become a student, you join a community that works together toward improved physical strength and stamina, better overall health and stronger mental discipline. We respect each other. We encourage and support each other. We celebrate each other's successes.

HOW ARE CLASSES STRUCTURED?
Most classes start with basic techniques and forms practice, followed by a variety of activities such as kicking or footwork drills, partner drills, and work with focus pads. Light-contact sparring drills are often included at, the end of class and there are sparring classes on Tuesday nights for those who wish to pursue this area of their training.
HOW OFTEN CAN I TRAIN?
Once you have begun your training you may attend as many classes each week as you like, and use the training facilities whenever it fits into your schedule. Ask us about the details.
